What does your job involve?
Primarily managing our test and support teams. I also review our products and suggest design enhancements to improve user experience.
How long have you worked at VIPR?
Just over a year now
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Breaking people’s code (okay yes I have an evil streak). I love being involved in the creation of new products and we have a great team so I enjoy working with our developers.
What do you find most challenging in your job?
I enjoy my job because it is varied and challenging and part of that challenge is to not to be outwitted by developers and coming from a technical background helps with this.
What’s your background – qualifications, previous experience?
After A’ levels I trained as a Cobol programmer working for the MOD. I continued developing mainframe systems for 15 years until I moved over to web development, projects and QA.
What’s your biggest achievement?
Raising two children while working full time.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I work full time with two children, two dogs, five chickens and a snake, what spare time? Seriously though my going out time is split between watching rugby (Quins supporter) and going to see Westend shows. Also my husband and I have renovated a 200 year old house in Bulgaria, and part of that challenge is learning Bulgarian.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Funny, talkative, tenacious
What would people be surprised to know about you?
Normally the fact that I have three kidneys.
Who is your idol?
I don’t have just one. I respect people for their different achievements but I’m going to say the Dalai Lama, you have to hand it to anyone that can keep that calm in today’s environment.
