A Conversation with Natalija Roberts
In honor of International Women's Day, we sat down with Natalija Roberts, a Developer at VIPR, to talk about her career journey, her inspirations, and her hopes for the future. Natalija’s path into the tech industry has been anything but conventional, demonstrating the power of curiosity and dedication.
Who are the female leaders or role models that inspire you?
"I draw inspiration from the people around me - family, friends, and colleagues - both male and female. What inspires me the most is seeing individuals treat their work like their own garden, dedicating themselves to the creation and joy it brings to others. Many of the women I work with embody this level of care and dedication."
As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, how have your unique skills contributed to your success?
"My curiosity has been a driving force in my success. It led me to transition from product implementation and support to software development, despite my degree in Linguistics. I believe in consistently reflecting on my strengths and applying them in diverse situations to find fulfillment and make meaningful contributions."
What advice do you have for other women in the industry?
"I encourage women to cultivate their curiosity and explore career paths that truly resonate with their authentic selves. Don’t be afraid to explore new avenues, learn, and grow. Success comes from finding a path that aligns with who you are."
How do you hope to influence your daughters’ careers and growth?
"My two daughters, aged 6 and 9, are naturally curious and creative. I hope to nurture their curiosity, encouraging them to always question, explore, and think independently as they grow. I want them to retain their uninhibited creativity and wonder, embracing their potential without fear."
